made for export circa 1850, with round 39in. browned barrel, Tower proofs (?), hooked breech, bead fore-sight, shallow sighting groove to the top-tang, square-fronted borderline engraved bar-action lock signed 'SAMUEL MOORE, WARRANTED' below the drum and nipple, sparse acanthus leaf engraved detail, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, iron furniture except white metal escutcheon behind top-tang, barrel-key escutcheons and ramrod throat and original under-barrel ramrod (worm tip missing)
